The most economical solution
It is a small and functional rain gauge that measures the amount of rain that has fallen using a tilting, automatic emptying bucket. It has a reed switch that opens every time the weight of the accumulated water tilts the spoon, which produces a pulse that can be recorded using a datalogger or pulse counter. It is made of UV- and frost-resistant plastic.
Patented automatic emptying system
A magnet keeps the spoon in a balanced position, so that emptying occurs through a rapid movement of the tip, which immediately returns to the initial position to collect a new portion of water.

The electronic printed circuit board with individually tested and high-quality reed switches protected against extreme weather conditions
such as extreme frost or heat. This include corrosion from salt water due to the PCB is coated with weather‐resistant varnish.
The PCB comes in two versions:
Small Rain Gauge: Item no. 100.053. Comes with: PCB No. 9601 NC: normally closed. Two male spade connecters and 1 reed switch connected in series with a 1K ohm 1/4W resistor and a TVS-diode in parallel.
Small Rain Gauge: Item no. 100.054. comes with PCB No. 9602 One Screw Terminal with 4 connections: 1-2 NC: Normally closed 3-4 NO: Normally open. Two separated circuits. Each with one reed switch
connected in series with a 1K Ohm 1/4W resistor and a TVS-diodes in parallel.
