El pluviómetro Helmmann PL200 es un pluviómetro manual formado por un cuerpo cilíndrico de aluminio anodizado con una superficie de recogida de 200 cm² que recoge la lluvia en un recipiente de hasta 3 litros de capacidad (que corresponde a 150 mm) o directamente en un recipiente de clase A o A+ de 250 ml (250 cm3) equivalente a 12,5 mm de precipitación (200 cm3 = 10 mm). El orificio de recogida en forma de embudo ha sido diseñado para dirigir todo el precipitado al colector para su posterior medición con una probeta graduada de alta precisión (resolución 0,05 mm en clase A y 0,04 mm en clase A+) capaz de medir de 0 a 12,5 mm. La forma del embudo garantiza que todo el precipitado acabe en el colector sin ninguna pérdida.
