Chione Station for late frost alert in fruit trees

Control unit for the detection of microclimatic conditions that may lead to late frosts in crops. They can be caused by radiation (heat loss from the soil causing a strong thermal inversion) and by advection (caused by movements of large masses of cold air that cause a sudden drop in temperatures). In both cases, the greatest damage occurs in the lower part of the canopy, where the air is colder. The fundamental parameters to be monitored are the wet bulb temperature, i.e. the air temperature resulting from evaporative cooling below and in the canopy.
