The PolyPen-Aqua PA 210 is a portable, handheld, and affordable spectrophotometer. It is convenient for quick and reliable measurements of absorbance and transmittance in liquid samples between 380 – 790 nm and 640 – 1050 nm respectively. Samples are measured in standard cuvettes. The PA 210 features an inbuilt GPS module and can be used as a self-contained instrument for various field applications.
PolyPen-Aqua PA 210
The PolyPen-Aqua PA 210 is a reasonably priced, portable, hand-held spectrophotometer designed to measure spectra in suspensions. It can be favorably used in a wide range of applications: biotechnology, limnology, ecology, molecular biology, chemistry, forensic science, etc. The device is convenient for both standard laboratory work and field work, making good use of its built-in GPS unit. The PolyPen-Aqua measures absorbance and transmittance spectra based on a single beam method; the detection range is 380 to 790 nm and 640 to 1050 nm. The device is equipped with an internal light source – xenon incandescent lamp.
The PolyPen-Aqua can be used as a stand-alone instrument. It is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery and therefore does not require a PC or any other bulky accessories for operation. The measured spectra are instantly displayed in graphs or data sheets on the device's touch screen. The complete spectrum information is stored in the device's memory for later analysis on a PC. The important part of the PA 210 package is the control software. It allows easy online control of the device as well as storage, loading and further processing of the measured data on a PC. It is also possible to define custom calculated parameters based on the measured spectra.
