The TEROS 12 Soil and Substrate Moisture and Electrical Conductivity Probe is the basic soil and substrate humidity, temperature and electrical conductivity (EC) sensor manufactured by METER Group.

The 70 MHz working frequency minimizes the effects of salinity and soil texture, improving precision in different types of soil and substrates.

With a durable epoxy body, the TEROS 12 Soil and Substrate Electrical Conductivity and Moisture Probe is designed to withstand harsh field conditions and water intrusion.

Ideal for large sensor networks and substrates, it is sensitive to small changes in volumetric water content (VWC) over the entire range of soil and substrate water content.

The new design of the TEROS 12 Soil and Substrate Electrical Conductivity and Moisture Probe makes it easy to install in any condition, from dry desert soils to wet peat.

Influence volume of the TEROS 12 Soil and Substrate Moisture and Electrical Conductivity Probe

The TEROS 12 Soil and Substrate Moisture and Electrical Conductivity Probe offers the largest volume of influence on the market.

With 9.4 cm stainless steel spikes, the TEROS 12 probe has an influence volume of 1010 mL around the spikes (compared to 200 mL for most sensors).

Quick and systematic installation in any scenario and thus eliminate data uncertainty

The installation process of the humidity probes must be carried out correctly to guarantee good contact and that the soil structure is not altered.

Installing the probes through a side hole made with an auger is valid for any type of soil (even hard clay) while minimizing disturbance of the medium.

The new deep installation auger for TEROS soil moisture probes is robust and easy to use.

In this way, the installation of the probes at depths of up to 1.8 meters is facilitated through an 8cm diameter side hole made with an auger.

It is advisable to install the sensors straight and perpendicular to the ground surface, exerting uniform pressure and avoiding the presence of air pockets.
